What is the Bathroom policy?

Adults are required to escort children up to 4th grade to the restroom. The accompanying adult should be checking the restroom to ensure it is empty before the child enters. The leader waits outside the restroom until the child is done. Only females may enter a bathroom stall or assist a child with dressing or hygiene, and only when absolutely necessary, keeping the door or top half of the bathroom door always open.

If a child does not want to participate during small group or is feeling shy (4yrs -5th grade), what is an appropriate response from a small group leader?

A) Check in with the child and see why they don’t want to participate. 

B) Invite them to hang with you and participate alongside you. 

C)Remind them if they still refuse to participate then they need to still be a part of program and they are welcome to sit and wait till program is done but this is not the time to do your own thing. It’s important to be restful to others who are trying to participate.
