Attributes of God, part 1
God knows everything.
"Omniscient"
"God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything." 1 John 3:20
Jesus received worship
“[The Wise Men] bowed down and worshiped Him” Matthew 2:11
“So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!’” John 12:13
Adam and Eve first disobeyed God.
"Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—" Romans 5:12
God is everywhere
"Omnipresent"
"Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord." Jeremiah 23:24
God is one God who exists as three persons.
Trinity: Father, Son, Spirit
God has all power
"Omnipotent"
“For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? This God is my strong refuge and has made my way blameless." 2 Samuel 22:32-33
Jesus Christ is the God-Man
“those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God’” Matthew 14:33
What is sin?
Sin is actions and attitudes that are against God and His Word.
God is Holy
He cannot have sin around him.
"Worship the Lord in the splendor of Holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!" Psalm 96:9
God hates all sin
"But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God" Isaiah 59:2
