This is when we see ourselves as the cause of negative events that we are not responsible for.

Emotional Reasoning

E.g. I contributed to the problem here, and I accept full responsibility for the part that is my fault. Never the less, there were factors beyond my control, so I can’t blame myself for everything that went wrong.
