A design used in pacing tools where performance assessments are considered first to help determine all that students are required to learn within a unit before any teaching begins. These considerations will be used to guide lesson planning to ensure student mastery.

Document used only in math. Gives detailed specificity on how math concepts may be taught. Provides examples and models for each concept.
What is Enhanced TEKS Clarification Document?
Suggested activities on the Pacing Tools in ITRS that help build conceptual understanding and may be used to help check for student understanding throughout a lesson.
What are Suggested Formative Assessments?
The Gap Tool must also be used in conjunction with this document from TRS that gives a view of how the entire year is layed out.
