Indications
This medication is given to address fetal lung maturity if the patient is suspected to deliver early.
What is betamethasone?
A medication that should not be given to a hemorrhaging patient with severe asthma
What is hemabate?
Ideally if you have a hypertensive patient with unstable blood pressures, you would have labetalol ordered this way.
What is a stacked dose order?
You must monitor the patient’s contractions, resting uterine tone, and fetal heart rate at least every 30 minutes while administering this medication.

Given to raise blood pressure after epidural administration, this medication cannot be given for a HR >90.
What is ephedrine?
When administering a pressor emergently for post-edpirual hypotension, this is the amount of milliliters you would administer no matter which drug you give.

Don’t be surprised if this vital sign becomes elevated after administering cytotec postpartum for bleeding.
What is the temperature?
When labetalol is insufficient in bringing down a severe range blood pressure, this is the usual next medication given.
What is Hydralazine?
A contraindication to methergine administration.
What is hypertension?
This antihypertensive is typically given in dosing of 5mg or 10mg when labetalol is ineffective, but can be provider preference.
What is hydralazine?
Oh no, your baby is sinusoidal! Either the baby is showing signs of severe anemia or we’ve just administered this kind of medication.
If a patient is having tachysystole, anticipate drawing up this medication, which can be found in the delivery kit.
What is terbutaline?
Given to address hypotension after the epidural, this med should not be given for a heart rate <90.
What is phenylephrine?
This is the typical bolus dose for Magnesium Sulfate, given also over this period of time.
What is 4g in 20minutes?
Terbutaline can cause an increase in this, so vitals must be taken prior to administration and afterwards every 15 minutes for an hour.
What is the heart rate?

This is a cervical ripening agent that can be administered for induction of labor, but cannot be administered if the patient is already contracting more than 3 in 10. The patient is instructed to lay in bed for 2 hours after insertion.
What is dinoprostone (Cervidil)?
Though cervidil and cytotec are often given for induction of labor, these patients are not candidates to receive them.
What are TOLACs?
Typically given 100mg in 10 minutes, TXA would be manually programmed to run at this rate.
What is 600ml/hr?
This is one of the most common complications when administering cervidil.
