Labs is a ____ compliant platform
HIPAA
When it comes to usability, we surpass Rupa with this.
Fewer clicks: WV Labs is nested within the platform that they already know and are using (in most cases). Wellevate has more and more of the tools practitioners need to be successful in their practice. Easier for the practitioner, fewer things for the patient to remember.
Patient list: auto import from WV
Patients who need assistance with the order, payment, or lab completion process can be directed here

This is called "Reflex" Testing
If you order “Reflex” testing, where additional tests are run pending the results of an ordered test (such as reflex thyroid antibodies if TSH is out of range), then the patient will be billed for the additional testing completed.
In the case that we are unable to obtain payment for those tests from your patient, your account will be billed using the card provided at registration and you can collect the fee from your patient.

Wellevate Labs EHR integrations
None at this time, but you can download patient test results as a PDF and upload them into your EMR/EHR or simply print them out to add to a patient's chart.
Rupa does offer Optimantra
This is the number ONE reason Wellevate labs is better than RUPA
Wellevate Labs has Labcorp: Conventional labs (blood tests) AND specialty labs. Rupa only has specialty labs.
This is the patient experience.
When you place an order for a patient, your patient will be contacted by email to alert them that you have recommended labs for them. They will be instructed to click the link in the email to complete their information and payment, and then will be provided additional detail in order to complete the labs, whether that includes visiting a Labcorp draw station near them, or to wait for their test kit to arrive in the mail.
This is how the practitioner obtains results
All test results will come into the Wellevate Labs platform, consolidating lab results from all labs into one platform. You do not need to log into individual laboratory practitioner portals to obtain patient results.
You will be notified when results are in, and after viewing, you can elect to allow your patient to view their results within their portal login
There is no way to adjust the labs fee for my patients.
WV labs offers a 5% discount off of custom panels over $100 and 10% off custom panels over $200
There is a 5% fee to cover CC fee and processing fees. This fee does not violate any kickback regulations as the practitioner is not making a profit.
These are the patient payment options for Labs
What is a credit card?
"cash" only. No insurance. Parity w/Rupa
This discount for WV Labs is not something that Rupa can match!
What is a 5% discount off customized panels over $100 and a 10% discount off customized panels over $200.
This is one of three ways the patient can get their blood drawn
This is how patients view their results
Patients are allowed to view their results only after you allow them to do so. They will appear in "lab kits" through WV.
“I thought you should know that I am not going to use this Wellevate lab service for the following reason: they are charging a 5% admin fee to the patient."
The 5% fee covers the credit card and processing fees. There is no margin and no kickback concerns when it comes to Wellevate Labs.
Rupa has a 7% fee
Wellevate Labs CS offers this free service for practitioners who need help interpreting lab results
Free Ask the Doctor consultations for support with choosing labs and interpreting results. Liz to dig in.
Practitioners without an NPI number can use this feature that Rupa does not have.
Practitioner Sponsor Network: Liz to explain how it works!
With Wellevate Labs, eligible non-physician practitioners can access our sponsor network of prescribing physicians to support your lab ordering needs. There is a small fee associated with this service, and that fee is automatically added to the patient order when you order labs.
This cannot be combined in one patient order.
What is Specialty and Labcorp results?
“I thought you should know that I am not going to use this Wellevate lab service for the following reason: EDI is requiring that I have a CC on file in the event it cannot collect payment from the patient
If they are making this commission PLUS the discount that certain labs allow for, then they should be responsible for chasing down the patient for payment, not the physician that is making ZERO from the lab test."
We collect practitioner payment information at registration in addition to a $1 setup fee to ensure we have an active payment method on file. This is to be used only in the case that reflex testing is ordered by the provider (that was not pre-paid by the patient) and the patient fails to provide payment when billed.
In this instance, we will charge your practitioner payment method for the reflex testing so you can collect the balance owed from your patient.
3 of the companies/labs offered on WV Labs
We coordinate this for patients, Rupa does not.
Finding blood draw centers, including mobile phlebotomy.
FYI: Rupa did just launch a feature where they email the patient local blood draw centers, but they do not promote this as coordination of mobile phlebotomy, just referral.
