What if I need to use the restroom during class? Should I ask while a teacher is teaching?
Ask. You HAVE TO HAVE A PASS. Sign out - use the date, time out, time back in.
Go directly to the restroom and right back to class.
No, wait until instruction is over and then ask.
What should you wear every single day?
Your lanyard.
How should you answer Mrs. Land's/Mrs. Green's question of the day?
With an appropriate response to the question being asked.
What should you bring to class daily?
Pencil, Binder, Homework (if needed)
What does the E of the HERO standards stand for? What does this look like in the classroom?
E = Engaged in Learning
I will "Listen like a HERO."
I will follow instructions and participate appropriately.
I will not make distracting noises.
What if I do not understand the directions?
Ask for help! That is why we are here.
What should you be wearing if you forget your lanyard?
A yellow sticker.

Look at the daily slide and get what you need.
What do you need for 7th grade English Language Arts, ELA?
A notebook.

What if I forget .. homework, my notebook, a pencil?! What if I forget every single day?
We all forget, so ask!!!
Then this is a habit and we need to help make sure you have the materials and skills you need.
What should discussions or group work look like?
Discussion or group work should follow the voice level posted, follow the topic, and be respectful.
What should you do once you are seated and have your supplies?
You should begin and complete your bell ringer.
Where should you store your notebook? What if you need your notebook?
The bin for your class period. If you need your notebook, you should take it home BUT bring it back the next day.
What does the O of the HERO standards stand for? What does this look like in the classroom?
O = Own It
I will take ownership of my actions, choices, and learning.
I will ask for help when needed.
I will give my best effort.
I will be a positive contribution to the Hellstern community.
What if I do not turn my work in?
You will have a Z in the gradebook and a week before the 9 weeks to turn in any late work.
What should whole class discussion look like?
We should be listening to the person speaking. Our eyes should be on the speaker. We should be thinking about what is being discussed.
Why are procedures for entering the room important?
It allows to focus. It allows us to use our time wisely.
What if you forgot something you need for ELA, what should you do?
You should look in the supplies bin or ask.
