On the financial tab this button is selected in order to view fees associated with a particular party.
What is "Case fees?"
To note that a party is not represented by an attorney you would do this.
What is check the pro se checkbox (in the modify party dialogue window)?

When a customer wants to pay into the court registry you would know that you can only accept certified funds because this popped up when you opened the case.

After initiating a case these two processes automatically occur.
