What day does Easter officially begin and how long does it last?

Easter begins on Easter Sunday and lasts 50 days until Pentecost Sunday (May 24,2026)

Pentecost Sunday- after Jesus' ascension into heaven, his disciples returned to Jerusalem and joined together in prayer in an upper room.   A voilent wind filled the house and tongues of fire came to rest on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, enabling them to communicate with Jews from "every nation under heaven" who were present in Jerusalem. This miraculous event empowered the disciples to preach the Gospel, and about 3,000 people were baptized that day, marking the beginning of the Christian Church.

Notes on Other Feasts in 2026
