Thank the neighbor for thinking of you, try it on and show that it does not fit so they take it back. Be honest and kind and tell him the coat is not your style and looks a little small so you appreciate the offer but no thank you.

Make your friend feel better about his haircut. It is going to grow back soon and only going to keep getting longer. Maybe say now he will not have to get another haircut for longer.
