Why is there no audio on my recording?
1) You muted the microphone accidentally.
2) The microphone was discharged.
3) You forgot to wear the microphone.
4) Someone changed the audio source settings.
5) There was a computer/network issue.
How can I hide student names in Speed Grader for all assignments?
Choose this option in Speed Grader from the Gear icon. *However, this option will not exist for an anonymous assignment. You will have to remove the anonymous setting and re-save it. Then you can go to Speed Grader and choose the gear icon and select "Hide Names". This will hide names for any non-anonymous assignments in Speed Grader.

There are many elements and integrations that can be found in the left navigation menu. Not all of them will be right for you to use, but I encourage you to incorporate at least one new assignment type this semester.

Click on "Show Details". They can now see various data points including the mean, median and quartile scores.
I tried to unpublish a quiz/assignment in a module, but my students still see it. What’s up with that?
You cannot unpublish certain types of assignments if there are student submissions. It is always a good plan to also check the element's "home" to be sure the publish status is consistent.
*If you need to copy a quiz from an old course after the course has started, we have a workaround.

How do I make sure none of my classroom recordings are visible?
Disable the Media Gallery in your course.
How can I make late or missing grades easy to handle in Canvas?
In the Gradebook, click on the "Gear" settings icon. You can add a default grade for missing work. You can also add a deduction for a specific amount based on how late an assignment is received. You can change your overall grade posting policy from this menu, though this will not affect anonymous assignments as they all have to be graded manually.
What if I want to accept a draft of an assignment for no credit and then change it to award credit?
Start by assigning it as "Complete/Incomplete", add comments and feedback and click on "Reassign". Once you have reassigned, set up new grading settings.
*Only available for assignments and must have a due date.
*Yes, it's slow. You may have to give it some time to think and it doesn't like to multi-task.

You can only access Speed Grader for new quizzes through the grade book. You can also only access the questions by clicking "Build".
