What is the explanation and lesson behind the parable of Jesus Christ about the 10 virgins?
Explanation: Ten virgins were all awaiting the Saviors visit to the town, five of them were getting prepared and the other five did not. The prepared ones retrieved oil for their lamps so that they could see in the dark while the others did not. The five that were prepared got to go and meet with the savior and the other five did not. Since they were not prepared Jesus Christ closed the door on them when they finally arrived since they were late.
Lesson: One must always be prepared and be ready for anything because the day will come in which the Lord will judge us and Jesus will return. If one is not prepared, one cannot go with Jesus or live with God.
