2nd Plane of Development
In the 2nd plane there is a shift from students identity being focused solely on family to identifying more with these people.
Who are friends/peers?
The number of times we send progress reports and have conferences.
What is two?
The time available for arrival.
When is 8:05-8:30?
This area of our curriculum includes geography, history, earth science, physical science, botany, and zoology.
What is the cultural curriculum?
Campus wide policy around phones and smartwatches.
What is keep them at home or in our pink bin by the classroom entrance until the end of the day?
The increased sense of justice and morality at this stage leads to students often lamenting in this phrase about life.
What is “That’s Not Fair!”
This is a time for students to informally show you the classroom and works after carline.
What are buzz ins?
These two days students go the gym during arrival for Morning Fitness.
Tuesday and Thursday
The second great lesson.
What is the Coming of Life?
Students in this stage need plenty of food and rest to support these “spurts“ both physically and mentality.
What are growth?
Phone calls, email, and meetings are the best forms of communication with these people.
Who are the teachers?
These help record work, provide accountability, allow for goal-setting, and can be differentiated.
What are work plans?
Letters are the foundation of this curriculum area.
What is language?
Our room parents.

Many students enjoy our school specials, creating stories, and playing in depth games at recess because this characteristic is very vivid in the second plane.
What is imagination?
October 16 & 17 and March 12 & 13
What are the dates of conferences(no school)?
The day our class has playground for recess.
Wednesday's
Monday and Friday are choice days
This area of the curriculum has consistent colors, builds slowly from concrete materials towards abstraction, and is usually the most confusing and exciting for families.
What is math?
This includes a multilingual song, photos, and family visitors.
What is a birthday celebration?
This is one of the most vital opportunities for learning and growth in Lower El, but is usually the hardest for families to observe and experience.
What is conflict?
The 4 apps/sites we use for communication.
What are Blackbaud, Transparent Classroom, Parent Square, and School Pass?
The 5 colors of our specials groups.
What are orange, pink, green, blue, and purple.
Our in depth continent studies rotate on a 3 year cycle like our classrooms. Last year we did Antartica, Asia, and Oceania. What continents will we study this year?
