Monday/Wednesday/Friday we will be doing this activity.
Swimming! if you are scheduled anytime between 2:30 and 4:30 be ready to get in the water! If you cannot swim during your shift you MUST inform a supervisor who is on shift.
How we play music for the kids on the speaker.
Spark tablet has spotify premium (slay) so all music will be played for the kids off the tablet, not your personals phone.
That being said, this should help limit your phone usage on shift!
What to do with you're energy drink when you come in.
Put it in something other than the can.
Behavior that could/would result in a write-up from a supervisor or coordinator.
No call no show, late and did not inform a supervisor, not actively engaging with kids/being alert and observing the room that you're assigned.
Tuesday/Thursday we will be doing this activity.
Walkinggggg! So if you are scheduled anytime between 1:30 and 3:30 be prepared to walk. If you are not able to walk and are scheduled for that time, you MUST let a supervisor know who is on shift.
ALSO July 30th (tuesday) we will be going to the naval lodge for the talent show from 1-4! Bazinga!
What you say to a kid if they ask to play on your phone.
"no."
The kids are not allowed to play on your phone.
These are types of kid on kid contact that are not allowed.
Grabbing clothes, wrestling, no piggy backs, can't be on top of eachother.
Components that make up a good behavior documentation.
Be as descriptive as possible, what was said, ect. Lists who was involved (kids, leaders, ect.) What did you do to resolve the situation?
Openers will be prepared to do this during their shift.
RUN ACTIVITIES!!! If you are opening it is expected that you will have activities prepared and ready to run during your scheduled time blocks. If you cannot think of an activity reach out to your assistant coordinator or check the SPARK Squad activities binder!
You can be written up for not running activities and engaging with the kids.
Texting/messaging the work group chat.
If you have to check something un-work related that might draw you away from the kids for a longer-period of time please let the assistant coordinator on shift know so they can get some eyes in that room.

This form is required to be filled out if a child is injured and we provide any kind of first aid.

On dress up days this will be expected.
Dress up!! The kids eat it up and you'll make their day. Dress up days are every wednesday with the exception of the first week which will be Thursday.
Things you should be doing while you're on shift.
Engaging with the kids. If you're coloring/drawing it's with the kids. If the kids are starting to have behavior issues there's a big chance that it's because they're bored, so give them something else to do besides cause trouble!
