What is the difference between teamwork and synergy?

Teamwork = People working together to reach a goal. Everyone contributes their part, but the result is usually just the sum of individual efforts.

Example: A group of students dividing up parts of a poster project and then putting it all together at the end.

Synergy = A level above teamwork where people’s strengths combine in a way that creates something better than anyone could have done alone. The result is greater than the sum of the parts.

Example: Instead of just dividing tasks, the group collaborates on the design, brainstorms creative ideas together, and ends up with a poster that’s more creative and polished than if they had worked separately.
