Poor leadership.

This leader always tells the truth, even if people disagree. Sometimes people are mad at him. Sometimes people think he is not a team player. Good leadership or poor leadership? 

Good leadership. If you know something is the truth, you should be honest. Especially if it is important.

A post officer manager notices one mail person keeps forgetting to deliver mail to an entire block! She keeps waiting for the mail person to notice their mistake but they don't. One day, the post officer manager yells at this mail person and tells them they better do a better job or else! Good leadership or poor leadership? Why?

Poor leadership. The post officer manager should have told the mail person how to fix their mistake!

"I'm a perfect leader and I never make mistakes! There is no reason for me to ever apologize. If someone feels hurt by something I did, it is probably their fault."

We are all human so we all make mistakes. It is good to apologize when we hurt others.

A chef becomes famous for her delicious cooking. Lots of young people look up to her. She gets lots of mail from fans, but does not read it. Sometimes people ask her to teach others how to cook, or help in other ways, but she decides she does not have the time. She makes lots of money from cooking competitions and loves to spend it on herself - plenty of cars, clothes, and cookware. Oh boy!

If a lot of people look up to you, you are a leader! This means you should set a good example. It would also be good to care about the people who look up to you.

This leader is not sure what to do when she has a big decision. She thinks and thinks for a long time but is stuck, so she asks her team for their advice. Together, they make a decision they all feel confident about. Good leadership or poor leadership? 

Good leadership. No matter how great a leader is, nobody has all of the right answers all the time. A good leader should ask for help when they need it!

Two people are angry with each other. A judge is listening to them explain what happened. The judge noticed on a record that one of these people made a bad choice 2 years ago. The judge decided not to let that affect their decision. He pretended not to know that when she gave her final verdict. Good leadership or poor leadership?

Good leadership. When hearing two sides to an argument, it is important to listen to the story in a fair way. It would not be fair to assume that just because someone made a bad choice in the past, they make bad choices all the time.

The mayor of a town called Bisbee likes to learn new things. She reads a lot of books about governments and how they work. Good leadership or poor leadership?

That IS a trait of a good leader. A leader should seek to understand and accept people who are different than them.

A dad has five children. He gives one child a hug, a compliment, and a smile when she gets a good grade and she is happy. He gives one child a new toy when she gets good grades and she is happy. He takes one child to Chik-Fil-A for a sandwich when he gets good grades and he is happy. Good leadership or poor leadership? 

It depends! It sounds like each child liked different things so the dad gave different gifts to each one. It sounds like good leadership.

During a game, a soccer team captain is frustrated with his teammates because they keep making mistakes. Instead, he just tries to make all the scores himself. When his teammates keep making mistakes, he says, "This team is so bad! I wish I was on a different team!" Poor leadership or good leadership?
