Should a leader be honest?
That IS a trait of a good leader.
A soror says something that hurt the leaders feelings. Instead of talking to her about it, you call and tell others in the chapter.
Poor decision. If you don't address it with the soror who hurt you, then leave it alone. Do not involve others when it has nothing to do with them.
This leader always tells the truth, even if people disagree. Sometimes people are mad at him. Sometimes people think he is not a team player. Good leadership or poor leadership?
Good leadership. If you know something is the truth, you should be honest. Especially if it is important.
Should a leader be trustworthy?
That IS a trait of a good leader.
The chapter is having a picnic. The chapter wants to serve steak, but the leader wants to serve chicken. She decides to serve chicken, although the vote was for steak.
Poor Decision. If a vote was made, then that is the final decision.
"I'm a perfect leader and I never make mistakes! There is no reason for me to ever apologize. If someone feels hurt by something I did, it is probably their fault."
Should a leader keep what they have or share? What characteristic is this?
A leader should be generous.
The chapter has done something a particular way for 20 years. There is no written rule as to how it should be done. The leader has asked for suggestions and ideas, yet nobody spoke up, so the leader makes a sound decision based solely off of her knowledge.
Positive Decision- If there is no standing rule and the chapter has had time to make a decision, yet nobody spoke up, the leader can make a decision as long as it does not cause harm or strife. After she states her decision, a vote needs to take place before moving forward.
This leader is not sure what to do when she has a big decision. She thinks and thinks for a long time but is stuck, so she asks her team for their advice. Together, they make a decision they all feel confident about. Good leadership or poor leadership?
Good leadership. No matter how great a leader is, nobody has all of the right answers all the time. A good leader should ask for help when they need it!
Should a leader give everyone the same thing or give everyone what they need?
This can be positive/poor leadership. Lead by standing rules and always be fair. Everyone will not be happy, no matter what decision is made. No one person is more important than the next.
I do not like the new leader. I will do everything in my power to turn others against her. I will not support any of her ideas.
Poor decision. Personal feelings should not overshadow the good that is being done.
The leader attends all meetings, programs, trainings, etc. when time permits. She then shares what she has learned with others.
Good leadership. A good leader is always learning!
