Ivan Pavlov

100

What is Positive Reinforcement

Adding something to increase a behavior

100

Social Learning Theory is

Learning from observing others

100

What is cognitive learning theory?

Individuals not only respond to stimuli but also acts on beliefs, thought, attitudes, feeling and strive towards goals

100

Definition of learning

Knowledge acquired through experience, study, or being taught

200

When we see a zombie, we naturally run from it. In our zombie lesson, we added a horn with the zombie. Now when you hear the horn, you run.

Which is the UCS

The zombie

200

What is Positive Punishment

Adding something to decrease a behavior

200

What are models?

Individuals observed in society

200

Latent learning is.

latent learning refers to knowledge that only becomes clear when a person has an incentive to display it.

200

What is taste aversion?

Occurs when organism becomes ill following consumption of a particular food

300

When we see a zombie, we naturally run from it. In our zombie lesson, we added a horn with the zombie. Now when you hear the horn, you run.

What is the UCR

Running
300

What is Negative Reinforcement?

Taking away something to increase a behavior

300

Who could models be?

parents within the family, characters on children’s TV, friends within their peer group and teachers at school.

300

What is a cognitive map?

Mental understanding of an environment

300

What are phobias?

One negative experience with an item can create an associated fear

400

When we see a zombie, we naturally run from it. In our zombie lesson, we added a horn with the zombie. Now when you hear the horn, you run.

What is the CS and technically the NS

the horn

400

What is Negative Punishment?

Taking away something to decrease a behavior

400

How do models influence behavior?

Provide examples of behavior to observe and imitate

400

Define trial and error learning?

multiple attempts are made to reach a solution

400

What is shaping?

A form of complex operant conditioning where we reinforce behaviors as it gets closer and closer to the desired behavior. We may also punish the behavior if it gets farther from the desired behavior.

500

When we see a zombie, we naturally run from it. In our zombie lesson, we added a horn with the zombie. Now when you hear the horn, you run.

What is now the CR

Running

500

What are primary and secondary reinforcers?

Primary reinforcers are things used to reinforce behaviors and are tied to our survival (food, drink, sleep, etc).

Secondary reinforcers are things used to reinforce behaviors that are not tied to our survival, but hold a learned value (money, social rewards, etc.)

500

How does the Bobo Doll experiment show social learning theory?

The children learned by observation and repeated that behavior to the doll

500

Describe the rat maze experiment.

In experiments that involved having groups of rats run a maze, rats that initially received no reward still learned the course during the non-reward trials. Once rewards were introduced, the rats were able to draw upon their "cognitive map" of the course

500

What is generalization?

Generalization occurs when the person or animal expects a reward or punishment whenever they perform a behavior similar to the behaviors that have been reinforced or punished.
