Vertical Line Test

y-intercept
these can correspond to the endpoints of graphs
Absolute minimum and maximum
is the point where a graph crosses the x-axis
x-intercept
The set of all outputs for a function
Range
the variable for which input values are substituted in a function.
Independent Variable
the greatest value of f(x) for values in limited open domain interval
relative maximum
Interval whose endpoints are not included
Open interval
the variable whose value is determined by the input or value of the independent variable
dependent variable
is the least value of f(x)? for values in a limited open domain interval
relative minimum
extrema
a graph that shows points in a graph that are connected
Continuous
is the greatest value of f(x) for all values in the domain
Absolute maximum
the values that make sense for a real-world situation
reasonable domain and range
graph that consists of individual points that are not connected by a line or curve.
discrete
is the least value of f(x) for all values in the domain
