Explain how the Sun, evaporation, condensation, and precipitation work together in the water cycle.

The Sun provides energy that causes water to evaporate from Earth's surface. As water vapor rises into the atmosphere, it cools and condenses into tiny water droplets that form clouds. When the droplets become large and heavy enough, they fall back to Earth as precipitation, such as rain, snow, sleet, or hail.
