It is the policy of Urbana Middle School to promote students to the next grade or retain students in the same grade based primarily on academic performance in all classes. Students will earn one credit for each passing semester grade they earn in each class. In general, there are 14 possible credits per academic school year. A student must earn at least 11 credits (80%) to be promoted automatically to the next grade level.
