What is Liability Navigator?
LNAV is an online platform that assists APD Claims Handlers when determining legal liability between parties involved in an accident
Does the Liability Exposure have to be open in order to run LNAV?
Yes - if the exposure is not open, you will not be able to find your claim in LNAV
If you have conflicting statements, should you still run LNAV?
Yes! When statements conflict, evaluate other evidence that may help you determine liability or answer questions (i.e. damage photos, police reports, scene diagrams, etc.)
What browser should be used to access LNAV?
Google Chrome
True or false: You can use LNAV on claims where Casualty owns the liability investigation
False
Why should LNAV be run if the 3rd party carrier has accepted liability?
In the event the Insured comes back to file through us directly or has out of pocket expenses.
Having the investigation complete also protects us if arbitration is filed for damage disputes.
If LNAV is asking questions that don't relate to the accident, what could be a reason why?
The wrong incident scenario may have been selected
Should LNAV be used for parked car and rear end accident scenarios?
No
Should LNAV be utilized for 3 vehicle losses?
No, LNAV is used for 2 vehicle losses only.
If you generate your assessment before you complete your diagram, will it properly upload to your claim file?
No - the diagram must be completed prior to generating an assessment for it to properly upload into Lumen/Navigator documents
If you cannot use LNAV for your claim due to the scenario type - what framework should be used to determine liability?
DBCD: Duties Owed, Duties Breached, Proximate Cause, Damages
Should I run LNAV on a Cross Insured claim?

Liability Navigator Statement Guide - HELP-234368
How do you add statutes to your assessment?
Copy & paste to Case Notes
If you do not agree with the suggested liability range provided by LNAV - what should you do?
