Why shouldn't you let other people borrow my books?
The book is checked out in your name and it is your responsibility.
What if I finish my book early and I don't have any other books from the library?
Ask your teacher when it's a good time to visit me to check out another one. Don't wait!
You will need to do this if you lose or damage a book.
