May I check out magazines?
Yes! Choose the magazine you want, then go to the envelope tub and find an envelope with the title of your magazine on it. Put your magazine inside - now it's ready to check out? Make sure and bring back BOTH the envelope with the magazine inside.
What do I do if I changed my mind about the books that Mrs. Sontrop saved for me?
Hang on to them, go get the books that I DO want, and bring everything up to the checkout computer.
What is a nonfiction book?
A book written with true facts
How are our fiction chapter books organized?
Our chapter books are organized by the first 3 letters of the author's last name.
In which genre would Dork Diaries or Diary of a Wimpy Kid be found?
Fiction (F)
What section in the library would I go to if I want to find a joke book?
In the 800's section of the nonfiction books.
How can I help to keep the library shelves neat?
Don't push the books back. Stand books back up if they are leaning over. If I pull out a book to look at it, put it back in the exact same place (or on the gray cart if I don't remember where it goes).
What is a fiction book?
Stories that are made up from the author's imagination.
How do we know if it is a Graphic Novel book?
The spine label will have 741.5 usually at the beginning of the call number and a graphic novel sticker on the spine.
How do you put a book back on the shelf?
Face the book right-side-up with the spine facing outward.
Books in this genre often involve magical worlds, mythical creatures, and adventures.
What are fantasy books?

Where do we turn our library books back in?
On the gray cart by the checkout computer.
What do we use to help prevent books from being put in the wrong spot?
Pay attention to the call number or put it on the gray cart.
Where do we find biographies? And what special sticker is on their spines?
Biographies are in the 921's and they have a green biography sticker on the spine.
What are biographies?
True stories written about a real person's life.

The spine will start with numbers, then The authors last 3 letters of their last name.
How do you leave the library when it is time to line up?
Push in your chair. No trash left behind. Gather all of your belongings. Use walking feet and line up quietly at the door.
Where is the section of books that are about World War II?
In the nonfiction section in the 900's.
If I find damage in a library book, what should I do?
Tell Mrs. Sontrop.
