In the morning, put the books in the basket in your classroom.

We use a level zero voice when entering the library.
How long are you allowed to keep your book before you need to return it to the library?
We keep our books for one week.
What should I bring to the library with me?
Nothing except books you want to return or books you would like to renew. Sometimes you might need your iPad but Mrs. Lilly will let your teacher know.
What should I do before reading my library book?
Wash your hands.
How do you check out your books?
Find your library card on the counter and hand it to the teacher helping check out books on the computer.
When do we use a level one voice in the library?
When we are doing partner work or partner reading.
What does it mean to renew my book?
If you're not finished with your book, you would need to do this to keep it longer than one week.

Where should I put my books when I get them home?
In a same safe space every time, so I can always find them. I should find a place that is out of reach of pets or little brothers and sisters that is also away from food and water.

Put books in here if you are returning books not on your scheduled library day.

We use a level two voice when we are speaking to the entire class.
What do we NOT use the library laptops for?
The library laptops are not used to play games.
Where do books go if you need to return them but forgot to put them on the library cart that morning?
In the dropbox, by the check out computer.
Why shouldn't I let other people borrow my books?
The book is checked out in your name and it is your responsibility.
After checking out this is what we do.
Sit and read quietly alone or with a partner.

Tell Mrs. Lilly or Mrs. Aubart as soon as possible.
