Why shouldn't you let other people borrow your books?
The book is checked out in your name and it is your responsibility.

Wait in line to see Ms. C to check out.

You have to pay for it or replace it.

On the floor outside the library, on the library floor, or back on the shelf before it's checked in.

Sit on the steps, do an activity at the tables, sit on the couch.
