How do we make sure kids are making it to the bathroom and following expectations in the bathroom? (ie. handwashing, appropriate behaviors)

For sure not! (important to note that sarcasm can sometimes be misconstrued, and is not developmentally appropriate for some kids. Better to stay away from sarcasm)

Can Kids get additional helpings of food?

Surprisingly, we cannot!


  • 12.14 – Cushioning materials are placed under structures which allow children to achieve a height of more than 30 inches.  Surfacing material is maintained in good condition. Grass, bare ground, asphalt, and concrete are NOT under these structures

Can kids get snack towards the end of the night?

If they ask for some, absolutely!

  • 14.2 – Children are served a meal or snack at least every three hours. School age children attending a full day of school are offered a snack within one hour of arrival at the program. If a program is less than 90 minutes, a snack does not need to be provided

Nope, unless water is not accessible (like field trip)

Is it okay to smoke in my car before/after work?

Yikes, Please don't!


  • 13.33 through 13.35 – Tobacco and tobacco substitutes (including e-cigarettes), alcohol and illegal drugs is prohibited on the premises of the program. Staff, activity specialists, and volunteers shall not smoke or use tobacco or tobacco substitutes (including e-cigarettes) on or off the premises during the program’s paid time. Employees should not use or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the program’s paid time including break time.

In short, yes.
