Food was scarce because the moon covered the sun so agriculture was not common plus the weather was really bad such as blizzards and hurricanes so the road was damaged by trees and was blocked by snow so trips to the supermarket was difficult. Also, right when the moon got hit by an asteroid, people started panicking so they took all the food and clothes so there would be no food and other materials left.

Superwoman! By the end of the story, Miranda learned that family is important. She saved her family from hunger when she came to the city hall to get some food because she had to walk (and ski) for 4 miles in blizzard! Miranda showed the she was a responsible and courageous hero when she helped her family cure from a flu when she did not have a sickness. She showed that she cared about her family.

I would rate this book 4 stars because it was very breathtaking and entertaining but on the other hand, it had a lot of extras information that was not needed. Also this book had some bad words in it.

While people were suffering from starvation and diseases, mosquitoes were actually enjoying that despicable time because humans were very weak, so it would be very easy to for the little pests to give diseases for people to die another way.

In this novel, she described many of her sufferings so we could picture the scene. If we picture it in our head, we get what the author is trying to say to us.

I would take the the choice of going down South because it says in the book, those areas down there were in better conditions also because it was out of reach by tsunamis and volcanoes.
