Describe the Triangular Trade. What countries/areas were involved and what goods were traded?
It was a trading system between Europe, Africa, and the West Indies (West Indies then traded to the colonies). The trade started in the colonies. Traders would sail to West Africa where they traded rum and guns for gold, ivory, and captive Africans. The second leg was known as the Middle Passage. This was from Africa to the West Indies. Captive Africans were traded for molasses in the West Indies. Then they returned to the colonies, where the molasses was made into rum.
