Unconscious victim on dock
Clear pool, put on gloves, make sure scene is safe, assess situation, look, listen, feel
Hands flailing, victim desperately attempting to keep themself afloat, saying "help", waving, terrified eyes, bobbing in water
Identifying passive
Face down, floating on stomach, arms out, very still, sometimes below the surface of the water
Help victim sit down and make sure they're safe, give them aspirin if they are able to take some, call EMS
Nosebleed
Put on gloves, give victim gauze to stop bleeding, write incident report
Pulse, no breathing
Rescue breaths, 1 ventilation every 5 seconds for two minutes
Struggling in another guards section, you see them but the guard doesn't
Triple whistle, run over to best place to jump in, jump in, save, talk to victim
You see a passive victim
Triple whistle, jump in, call for backboard, AED, and for someone to call EMS. Perform passive save and extract.
Stroke

Help victim and call EMS
Imbedded object in body
Do not remove object, make a shield around it with objects around you like a cup and some gauze and tape
No pulse no breathing
Start Chest Compressions, 30x2 breaths, if tired another guard can substitute
Active to passive
Switch to passive save, call for backboard, AED, and for some to call EMS, use backboard to extract.
You see passive victim hit head before becoming passive
Spinal victim, slide into pool and perform spinal rescue and call for backboard, AED, EMS

Burn on body
Apply burn cream, put a bandage on it, wrap with gauze and tape
Person gains consciousness
Stop CPR, if vomiting move them on their side
After extracting active victim
Assist victim and family, write incident report, continuously check up on victim.
After extracting victim
Put on gloves, make sure scene is safe, look listen and feel. Perform CPR
Person falls and hits their head
Stabilize victim, call EMS, perform CPR if person loses consciousness
Apply band-aid
When EMS arrives
Tell them exactly what happened, what care you provided, help answer their questions, assist if necessary, write incident report
Active victim needs help getting out
Other guard gets backboard, do quick extract.
Person does not regain consciousness
Continue CPR, use/follow AED directions until EMS arrive
Heat Stroke
Remove person from heat, apply icepacks to neck, back, groin, and armpits to lower body temperature
Major injury (broken bone, laceration, avulsion)
Call EMS, apply pressure, wait with victim and assist until EMS arrives
