In the summer the road is hotter than the grass. Explain why the road would be hotter than the grass.
The road is absorbing all of the heat and then it is just sitting there with very little being bounced off.
The grass only green light is being absorbed the rest is bouncing away and absorbed into different parts of the ground - soil for example.
A shadow is created when an opaque or translucent object blocks a light source.
Explain how we are able to see in order. Give a step by step example - 100 points for each correct statement.
1. light waves go out from the source and hit objects.
2. part of that light is absorbed by the object, the rest bounces towards our eyes.
3. the light waves enter our eyes, travel to the retina, then to the optic nerve to the brain.
4. the brain then translates the waves into a picture to understand what we see.
