What is light
Light is a wave that carries energy; a light source emits a countless number of light rays that travel in all directions.
What is reflection?
The process through which light strikes an object and bounces off. We see objects because of reflection.

is composed with different wavelengths ranging from red (longest wavelength) to violate (shortest wavelength)
What is a medium?
the material through which a wave travels.
What does transparent mean?
Materials that allow some light to pass through (windows, drinking glass, saran wrap, etc.)
what is refraction
bending of light. Refraction occurs when light travels through different media, the speed of light slows down and bends as a result. Refraction can cause distorted images.
What do black objects do
they absorb all colors and reflect none of them.
What kind of wave is light
Light is an electromagnetic wave that does NOT need a medium to travel through.

Materials that allow some light to pass through (stained glass, wax paper, tissue paper)

because they absorb some light rays and reflect others; and object apears the color it reflects (Ex. a blue shirt appears blue because it absorbs all the other colors and only reflects blue
