What is Setting

The point in a story when all the struggles are over and we know what is going to happen to the characters in the story

Attributes the qualities of a character in a description or commentary
What is Direct Characterization?
A character struggles against some outside force: another character, society, or some natural force
External Conflict
A figure of speech that makes a comparison between two unlike things without using the words like, as, than, or resembles
What is Metaphor?
The person telling the story knows everything that is going on in the story
What is 3rd person Omniscient?
The most exciting part of a story; the part where a reader knows / does not know what the outcome will be

Inviting readers to infer a character's qualities from characters' actions, speech or appearance

The uncertainty or anxiety we feel about what is going to happen next in a story
