Who is the Protagonist?
A form of figurative language in which something that is not human is given human characteristics.
What is Personification?
An author’s attitude toward his or her subject and audience.
What is Tone?
"But the premise and the base are here, the lines of the Declaration of Independence and the words of Lincoln are here, and the stars in our flag."
What is allusion?
The story is told from the perspective of a single character, using pronouns like "I," "me," and "my”.
What is 1st person POV?
Character does not experience basic character changes during the course of the story.

A moment of sudden realization or insight that a character experiences, often leading to a changed perspective or understanding of themselves or the world around them.

The narrator acts as an impartial observer, relaying only what can be seen and heard, without access to the characters' thoughts or feelings

A character who contrasts with another character - usually the protagonist— to highlight particular qualities of the other character.
