Two things being compared (there is a comparison to be made) in the same sentence.

Placing two things side by side to draw either a comparison or a contrast.
Juxtapositon.
My friend is a professional dog walker. Yesterday she sent me a photo of her walking a big German Shepherd and a tiny Teacup Poodle. I thought it was funny.

The use of words to give a meaning this is opposite of its actual meaning. It can also look like a contradiction.
