What is the Exposition?
When a story is told by a character in the story using pronouns like "I," "me," and "my" to describe their personal experiences, thoughts, and feelings.
What is 1st person point of view?
A conflict where the protagonist is opposed by another character or characters, creating tension and struggle between them.
Ex: Harry Potter vs. Lord Voldemort

What is Man vs. Society Conflict?
The use of descriptive language to create vivid mental pictures in the reader's mind by appealing to their senses, often through the use of figurative language, allowing the reader to experience a scene or situation vividly.
What is Imagery?
When a situation arises that is the opposite or contrary of what was expected or intended.
Ex: If a firehouse burns down.
What is situational irony?
The point in the story where the conflict begins to resolve.
What is the Falling Action?
When a narrator in a story speaks directly to the reader using pronouns like "you" and "yours".
What is 2nd person point of view?
A conflict that arises when characters struggle against powerful or irresponsible technology, such as artificial intelligence or scientific advancements.
Ex: John Connor vs. The Terminator
What is Man vs. Technology conflict?
A brief, indirect reference to a person, place, event, or literary work that the author assumes the audience will recognize and understand.
What is an Allusion?
When the audience or reader is aware of crucial information that one or more characters in the story lack.
Ex: In Oedipus Rex, the audience knows Oedipus is the murderer he is searching for, but Oedipus himself does not.
What is dramatic irony?
The part of the story where the conflict is fully resolved.
What is the Resolution.
When the narrator has access to the thoughts and feelings of all characters in the story.
What is 3rd person omniscient point of view?
A struggle against a predetermined outcome or a fated destiny, where the character may fight against what is believed to be inevitable.
Ex: Hazel Grace and August vs. Cancer
What is Man vs. Fate/Destiny conflict?
The author's or narrator's attitude toward the subject matter or audience, conveyed through specific word choices (diction), syntax, and stylistic elements.
What is tone?
The overall emotional atmosphere or feeling created in a text that influences the reader's emotional response.
What is mood?
