-ASM go onstage to assess the situation
-SM communicate to FOH what is happening

If you need to stop a show for fire evac or weather shelter in place, what should you do BEFORE making an audience announcement?
-Alert everyone on headset of the hold
-Cut any audio playback/live mics
-House and work lights up
-ASMs/Crew begin making sure any furniture is clear from exit routes (as announcement is made)
What should you do if cast or crew member has a medical emergency backstage?
-If the show can continue, take care of the situation backstage while the show continues.
-If the show cannot continue, hold the show and assess the situation and whether the show can continue.
What is the most important thing to do in case of an emergency?
-Remain Calm

-Follow Protocols as Closely as possible

Do a headcount!
What happens at the conclusion of an Active Shooter situation?
EOD duties (as able) and go home.
Is there anything you can go over with the crew to prepare for emergency show hold situations?
Go over standard emergency plan:
-Turning on Works + House Lights
-Stopping Sound
-Clearing emergency pathways
Who can make the decision about whether to hold and/or continue the show after a medical emergency?
Depends! If the hold has not been long and you are confident you can safely take care of the incident and resume the show you can make that decision. If you cannot resume the performance without the injured party, consult with Casey/FOH, Lee and/or April.
What needs to happen after an emergency situation has been resolved and show has ended (if applicable)?
-Detail the nature of what happened in the Rehearsal or Performance Report as specifically as possible as a record of what actions were taken. If the nature of the emergency is sensitive (medical) you may be a bit more vague in the report and send a more detailed follow up to Lee/April.
Who will determine if we should cancel or resume a performance after a Fire/Weather Emergency? Are you as SM ever able to make that decision?

What should you do if cell phones receive an emergency alert (ie. Flood, or other weather alert that does not require evac or shelter in place) during a performance?
Make an announcement to the audience summarizing the alert noting that there is no immediate threat and saying the show will continue.

When should you fill out an incident report? What do you do with it?
-Anytime someone gets injured during at call for a rehearsal or performance if there is any chance they will require follow up care.

Is there ever a situation in which you should not follow an emergency alert, ie. Fire Alarm or Tornado Warning?
No! Always assume the threat is real and follow emergency protocols.
What happens if there is a power outage?
-FOH makes an announcement to the theatre and alerts campus safety.
-Reach out to phone tree – assess the situation
-If power is restored in a timely manner the show can be resumed; if not, the show will be canceled.
If is determined the show will resume, what are your steps to make that happen?
-Determine where to pick up and communicate that with cast/crew
-communicate with FOH about getting audience re-seated
-headset check
-audience announcement
-get places and ops in correct cues
-resume!
