The mission of LRWP is to restore and protect wetlands in the watershed of the Little River, a major tributary of the Wabash River, and to provide educational opportunities that encourage good stewardship of wetlands and other natural ecosystems.

Our volunteers will also serve as Hoosier Riverwatch Test Assistants! We'll measure water depth and dissolved nutrients. On a related note, describe how wetlands function as natural filters in the environment! 

These ecosystems act like nature’s kidneys—slowing water, using plants to absorb nutrients, and filtering out pollutants like Nitrogen and Phosphorous to clean it naturally.
