10 Commandments
As we look at the 10 Commandments, what must we confess about ourselves?
That we have broken them in our words and actions and because of this we truly deserve to go to hell.
Out of the 3 uses of the law (curb, mirror, and guide), which one is the most important and why?
Mirror because it shows us that we need a Savior.
Sorrow over sin AND trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins!
What is repentance?
Why should we receive Communion on a regular basis?
Because through it God strengthens our faith and gives us wondrous blessings: forgiveness of sins, life and salvation.
Everything that we need to live including food, water, shelter, relationships, etc.
What is daily bread?
The time that a person has in their life to come to faith in Jesus before they die.
What is time of grace?
The biblical teaching that the Holy Spirit worked through human authors to write the books of the Bible.
What is "verbal inspiration"?
How do we know that the sacraments work? In other words, what gives them their power?
We know that they forgive sins because the Bible says so! God's promise gives them their power
When did Jesus institute the Lord's Supper?
On the night he was betrayed--Maundy Thursday.
A type of prayer in which you make a request of God.
What is the biblical definition of marriage?
Lifelong union between one man and one woman.
The theory that humans evolved over millions of years which does not agree with the Bible.

What is the definition of a sacrament?
- Instituted by Christ.
- Earthly element connect to God's Word.
- Offers the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.
What is Amen?
The sinful condition that we inherited from our parents and ancestors all the way back to Adam and Eve.
What is original sin?
The work of the Holy Spirit--setting apart/ making holy.
What is sanctification?
What would you need to do and say to baptize someone?
Apply water to them and say, "I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Jesus' true body and blood together with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. (Real presence--all 4 things).
What does the 7th petition teach us?
What is the 8th commandment?
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
The work of Christ who declared the world "not guilty." In other words, that we are forgiven all our sins.
What is justification?
Name at least 2 reasons that babies should be baptized:
- Babies are sinful and need Jesus.
- Jesus says baptize, "all nations."
- Babies CAN believe!
What does examining yourself for the Lord's Supper mean?
It means that you recognize that you have sinned and deserve God's punishment but that you also repent of your sins and trust in God to forgive them.
You also must know what the Lord's Supper is--that it is Jesus true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
ACTS is one another simple model for prayer. What does ACTS stand for?
Adoration
Confession
Thanksgiving
Supplication
