Each Handcart can carry enough of these which will be provided by the Stake for each participant in a family to hold personal items such as water, chapstick, sunscreen, clothing, etc.

Most of the handcart pioneers were this which meant that their bodies weren't used to the physical rigors of walking, sleeping on hard surfaces, their feet were soft from always wearing shoes, and they were not accustomed to the rigors of prairie life.

By building the faith of the active youth, reaching out to the less active and inactive, and teaching the youth that they can do hard things, we are doing this for the wards.

This man was opposed to traveling so late in the season and expressed his concerns to his leaders, but once the deciison was made to move ofrward, he was 100% obedient without complaining or saying, "I told you so."

These should be solid and not mesh or they will need to be covered with duct tape to block dirt/sand from causing irritation that may cause blisters.

Kleenex, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, bug repellent, Vicks vapor rub, safety pins, extra flashlight with batteries, consecrated oil, marking pen, sunscreen, a watch, extra batteries, duct tape, emergency feminine supplies, bucket wrench, several garbage bags to tie on handcart for trash, extra bungee cords, 2-3 squirt bottles, and a small cooler.

What are the extra things I should have on my handcart?

This couple had enough money to buy a team and wagon and fully supply, and still have enough money to buy a farm when they got to Utah, but they opted to go by handcart so they could help the other saints.
