He murders Duncan, and Duncan's two sons flee the country, leaving Macbeth as the last Thane to the throne

His escape is significant because he is still alive, therefore when he returns he will become king
How does Macbeth interpret the apparitions?
He feels invincible because he feels no man was not born of women therefore no one can harm him. As well as he believes no forest can move to come take him.
How does Macbeth react to the death of his wife?
He is unfazed and states he wishes she stayed a live another day to see him murder more people.
What does it mean when Banquo is said to be “lesser than Macbeth and greater”?
Banquo will never become king but MacBeth will (therefore Banquo is lesser) however his kids will become king (therefore Banquo is greater).
Why is Banquo worried about Macbeth's prophecy?
He is worried about Macbeth becoming king from evil means

He is ambushed and killed by three murderers hired by Macbeth
