Give 3 reasons why solar energy is better for the environment as well as sustainable than coal energy?
They do not pollute the environment as they are natural processes, and do not have a big impact on the animals living in the environment It is sustainable as we can’t run out of the resource as it can be reused over and over again without running out of it Solar energy can be used everywhere (including houses and personal areas) as it is not very disturbing as well as easy to set up. Coal on the other hand cannot be used everywhere and can only be used in power plants.

What are the three types of industries?
What is Tertiary industry: Services Secondary industry: production of goods Primary Industry: extraction and collection of natural resources
200
What are some advantages of using renewable resources?
What is Renewable resources are always available and they don’t harm the environment as much as non renewable resources because non renewable resources are things such as trees and fish and when they are removed from their habitat, it impacts their ecosystem and is bad for the environment.
200
In what way do non- renewable resources affect our environment ?
What is All energy resources have an impact on our environment. Fossil Fuels - coal, oil and natural gas harm the environment. They harm it, because they emit a lot of pollution.

Where is the best place to put a hydroelectric dam?
A fast-moving river, with a high water level. Fast-moving water makes more energy, while a higher water level does the same. Unfortunately, a high water level can lead to flooding

What is Ontario has cities that can provide products and services to the public while alberta has good farming land to gather raw material.
300
Which of clear- cut or selective-cut is more sustainable? why?

300
TRUE/FALSE: Non renewable means resources that resources can regenerate quickly
What is False, it takes thousands of years to decompose items like plastic and other materials.
300
What are some examples of primary industries? Secondary industries? Tertiary industries?
What is Primary Industries: Mining, Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing Secondary Industries: Food Processing, Textile Manufacturing, Manufacturing of other materials Tertiary Industries: Sales, Banking, Tourism, Hospitals; Services

What is the tragedy of the commons and how does it apply to human use of renewable resources?
What is The Tragedy of the Commons is a concept developed by Garrett Hardin. It states that any resource available to everyone will eventually be destroyed. This concept was used in the Fishing Game that we did as a class. In our first round, everyone took as much fish as they could and it ended up creating an unsustainable environment. This relates to all natural resources through this human usage (forests, fish, etc.)
