The P *  m * * * * o technique is a well-known productivity interval that has been shown to improve your productivity. It gives you a prescribed interval of 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break. After 4 work intervals, there is a 15-minute break.

How it works:

Choose a task you need to get done.

Set a timer (e.g., for 25 mins).

Focus on the task at hand.

When the timer rings, put a checkmark on a piece of paper.

Take a short break: Take a break for about three to five minutes. Go for a walk, grab a cup of coffee, do something non-work-related to give your brain a break.

Repeat steps two to five: Once you have completed this process four times, you can begin to take longer breaks (20–30 mins).

“Here’s how it works:

  2. Then put the tasks in order of priority putting the most important task first.

Distributed practice works best by spreading your study sessions out over time.  For example, instead of doing 5 hours of study on Saturday night, you can study for 1 hour for 5 days.  You get the same amount of study time, however, you have time to consolidate your knowledge over a few days which makes it easier to remember.
