What the Year Looks Like
We start off reviewing Math 101 topics 1st semester, we go into Math 201 topics starting 2nd semester.
Lectures
I only Lecture 15-20 minutes at the most, and not everyday. I want to give students time to practice while a teacher is available to help.
Teachers Schedule
I teach 2 Co-Taught Chemistry Classes in the Morning, Followed by 2 Co-Taught Math Classes in the Afternoon. End the Day with Teaching Math 201.
Mrs. Lettau is pretty busy all day.
Programs students can use at home
On Google Classroom, students have access to the programs IXL, Edpuzzle, Khan Acadmey, and Delta Math. All can be used to practice Math work at home if needed.
Double Jeopardy!!!!!
Any question you would like to ask me?

About Mr. B
Live in the area
Married with a little 2 year old girl.
Head Coach Track & Field here at Lakes.
Like to run, watch movies, play the occasional video game, watch sports, go out to eat.
Mrs. Lettau coaches the cheer team here at Lakes.
Homework at home
Homework is all on the computer through Edpuzzle (just videos). They will have time in class to get it done as well. If a student can't get computer work done at school, they just have to let me know. I'll give them a paper copy if needed.
After School Tutoring
Time for tutoring is 3:30-4:30. No appointment is necessary; students can just drop in. Always a Math teacher there.
Types of Math problems
We start off with basic Algebra and expand
Ex. 32+6 (2)=?
Work on Geometry
Ex. Define and find the volume of this shape
Conclude with Probability
Ex. What is the chance it is going to snow, given it is already raining?
Group Work
Group work can be with partners, but generally like to have one teacher in a group as well (no students working by themselves in groups).
What can students gain from Math with Mr. B
I try to teach Math that relates to their Goals and the future of being a young adult/adult after graduation from high school.
Keys to success
Attendance & working on in-class work. Relates to test scores directly.
Case Managers
Feel free to email or contact students case manager at anytime with concerns about Math class. We work as a team, so I'm always happy to talk with case managers about concerns students are having and finding ways to help.
How the Math classes related to General Education
Math 201 correlates with Math 1 content. A student can get high enough scores to be put into a Math 1 setting, depending on if the whole team (including parents/guardians) feels the student is ready and can find success.
What do we do in Math class
We go over new content, followed by a few days of practicing content through various methods (group work, computer work, learning programs, and games such as this one!)
