1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10=??

1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10+1/10= 12/10

Andrew and Ibrahim played video games. Andrew scored 5,397 points in Level 1 and 6,928 points in Level 2. Ibrahim scored 4,808 points in Level 1 and 5,219 points in Level 2. How many more points did Andrew score than Ibrahim?

(5397 + 6928) – (4808 + 5219) = p

12,325 – 10,027 = p

p = 2,298 points

Andrew scores 2298 more points than Ibrahim

Is 111 a Prime or Composite number?

If its Composite, what are its factor pairs?

Composite!

Its factor pairs are (1, 111), (3, 37)

300
Was this problem changed to find a common denominator correctly?

1/18 + 3/9 BECOMES  2/18 + 6/18

NO! For each fraction you have to do the same to the numerator that you did to its denominator

SO

1/18 would stay 1/18 and 3/9 would become 6/18

Elevation Station charges $13 for a 1-hour jump and $20 for a 2-hour jump. If 68 people paid for a 1-hour jump and 49 people paid for a 2-hour jump, how much money did Elevation Station make in all?

(13 x 68) + (20 x 49) = m

884 + 980 = m

m = $1,864

The factor pairs of 58 are (1, 58) and (2, 29)

400

Solve the Problem!

5/6+ 6/7=???

6 and 7 share the multiple 42

so 5/6 becomes 35/42 and 6/7 becomes 36/42

35/42 + 36/42= 71/42

Which SIMPLIFES into 1 29/42

TIME CHALLENGE

you have 1 minute to figure out all of the factor pairs of these numbers

45, 36, 71

45- (1, 45), (3, 15), and (5, 9)

36-(1, 36), (2, 18), (3, 12), (4, 9), and (6, 6)

71- (71,1)

500

Will the product of two prime numbers also be prime?

NO

The product of two primes can't be a prime because it violates the definition of the prime number as it will be divided by the prime numbers which are multiplied rather than 1 and the number itself. So the number is not prime it will become a composite number instead.

500

Solve this problem!

4/8+3/9+1/8+2/9

FIRST OFF, there is adding you can do before finding common denominators

4/8+1/8=5/8 and 3/9+2/9=5/9

5/8+5/9 BECOMES 40/72 + 45/72= 85/72

which SIMPLIFIES into 1 13/72
