Everything is made of what?
Matter
Name the three main States of Matter
Solid, Liquid and Gas
What is a good example of a solid?
An ice cube/ rock
What is one thing that can cause matter to change states?
temperature
What kind of lion never roars?
A dandelion!
Matter is made of what?
Atoms
What State of matter keeps it's shape and size?
Solid
What is a good example of a liquid?
water
What do you call the point where water turns to ice
The freezing point
What do you call a dog magician?
A labracadabrador!
The center of a Atom is called what?
Nucleus
What State of matter take the shape of the container it is put in?
Liquid
What is a good example of a gas?
oxygen, helium, neon, argon
What do you call the point where ice turns into water
The melting point
What has hands and a face, but can’t hold anything or smile?
A clock!
What are the 3 particles of an Atom?
Electron. Neutron, and Proton
What State of Matter can fill any space?
Gas
What is one thing that can cause matter to change states?
temperature
What do you call the point where water gets hot enough to turn into steam?
The boiling point
What can you catch but not throw?
A cold!
Are icebergs made of saltwater or fresh water?
Fresh water. Ocean water contains too much salt. It will actually take salt water longer to freeze than fresh water due salt crystals. Icebergs are made of snow formed onshore that drift into the ocean.
Why can a liquid flow?
Liquid can flow because its particles move around, sliding over each other.
What is the 4th state of matter? (HINT: We are not covering it because it is newly found)
Plasma
If an ice cube is melting, is that absorbing energy or releasing energy?
absorbing
What is made of water, but if you put it into water it vanishes?
An ice cube!
