This program was the first campus-based assistance program in the country found in 1993 by a group of students and MSU Staff.
What is the MSU Food Bank? The MSU Student Food Bank provides volunteer leadership opportunities for over 200 students each year. The MSU Student Food Bank serves over 4,000 clients per year. The MSU Student Food Bank distributes about 50,000 pounds of food annually to MSU students and their families (that’s 10,020 5 lb. bags of food).

This campaign was initially developed by MSU students in the Communication Arts and Sciences program and currently utilizes a group of student volunteers, the Quack Pack to inform the development of new campaign messages and strategies, assist with distribution of campaign materials on and off campus, and provide staffing for campaign events.
