A student solves a problem in their head and writes down only the final answer.
Why is this not a good idea on the KSA?
This is not a good idea because they will lose points if the answer is wrong, showing work can earn partial credit. Always show your process!

A student gets an answer of $500 for the cost of 10 pencils. What should they realize, and what should they do?
500 bucks for 10 pencils is clearly wrong, it makes no sense. They should realize they made a mistake and go check their work. Maybe they messed up the decimals and meant to put $5, that would make more sense.
