What is the purpose of precautions?
To promote well being and patient safety
What is hypotension and the manifestations associated with it?
Low blood pressure. Manifestations include dizziness, weakness, light-headed, and fatigue
Fall prevention
Yellow socks and wrist band, bed alarm on, sign outside of room, assistance when ambulating
What is hypoglycemia and the manifestations associated with it?
low blood glucose. Manifestations include, shaking, sweating, light-headed, anxious, and tachycardia
Pressure wound prevention
q2 turning, frequent incontinence checks, adequate nutrition, offloading bony prominence's, therapeutic mattress
What is wound dehiscence?
partial or full separation of wound edges
Aspiration prevention
An extreme immune response to an infection
Delirium prevention
Lights on, shades open, brief napping but none after 3pm, tv and lights off at bedtime, encourage sensory aids and ambulation
What is Oseteomyelitis?
An infection in the bones
