What is a tripod?
A camera shot of a person's head from the shoulders up.
What is a close up?
The slow horizontal movement of the camera from left to right or from right to left that may be detailed in a 'shot list' document.
What is a film pan(ning)?
A brief segment excerpted from a film
What is a clip?
Anything an actor uses or touches in a scene
What is a prop?
The recorded identification of a scene and take numbers.
What is a clapperboard?
Dialogue heard on a movie's soundtrack in which the speaker is not seen.
What is a voice-over?
The plan of each camera shot that is created prior to filming and is used during filming.
What is a storyboard?
Raw material acquired from exporting data from an SD card straight onto a computer, ready to edit.
What are rushes or dailies?
The place outside the studio where shooting can occur.

A non-fiction narrative without actors.
What is a documentary?
The preferred way to shoot video where the screen is divided up into a tic-tac-toe diagram and the points of interest of the subject are lined iup where the lines intersect.
Prominantly used within lots of super hero movies to transport a character to another location outside of the originally shot location on set.
What is green screening?
The chief electrician in charge of lighting on a set.
What is a gaffer?
A device used to adjust the focal length to a specific amount as well as the overall picture clarity.
What is a lens?
The camera technique of walking around while shooting video, without a stabalizer or dolly.
What is handheld?
The planning of the actor's positions and movements during the filming of a scene.
What is blocking?
Used to fix and improve specific scenes which may appear too dim or too bright.
What is colour correction?
Editors like to keep their sound, video, graphics and VFX files organised in them.
What are (project) bins?

A type of content creation that involves several still images to create a moving image.
What is stop-motion animation?

Within this process, a tool shaped like a dial is used to adjust the overall appearence of a specific clip.
What is colour grading?
Visual distraction used in conjunction with what's going on in the scene, mostly relating to what's being said on camera.
